Hallo zusammen, bin ganz neu im Forum und bitte um Hilfe: Habe mir vor einem Jahr eine m.E. gut restaurierte BK 350 (Bj. 1958) gekauft. Sie sprang schon imm er recht schwer an. Zuletzt ging sie mehrfach während der Fahrt aus und lief dann nur auf einem Topf. Zündfunken beidseits da. Schwimmergehäuse habe ich gereinigt.

The BK 350 (the letters stand for Boxer Kardan with 350 cc displacement) was a motorcycle model of the VEB Motorradwerke Zschopau (MZ), which was produced from 1952 to 1959; initially under the name "IFA BK 350". The BK 350 was presented to the public at the Leipzig Trade Fair in 1951 as a DKW twin-cylinder engine.

IFA BK 350 from 1956. The motorcycle was produced in German Democratic Republic in former DKW factory. It was their first afterwar design. First shown in 1951 in Leipzig as „DKW-Zweizylindermaschine". Mass production started in the end of 1952 and lasted until 1959 (see also: MZ BK 350). The motorcycle was fitted with two-stroke two.

The flight model of both of then is quite good, but the BK-117 is IMHO much easier to handle (since it is heavier). The AS350 is in fact for autorotations better but it can be quite tricky to control it. The AS 350 has more features and modes but I must admit I prefer the BK-117.

I believe that the same conditions will apply when looking at the value invested in a 350c vs. a BK-7m. My impression is that the BK has all and MORE of the sounds, quality of sounds, styles, etc. than any Atelier, especially that combo model which would fall closer to the bottom than the top of the Atelier line.
